Long form improv can get very heady… what is the next game move? How do I heighten? Will my scene partner know the reference I’m about to make? But often the best choice, the most truthful choice, is an emotional one rooted in the character relationship already on stage. This workshop will focus on communication that is often unspoken in scenes— how your character feels, how your scene partner feels, and what magic exists when those collide. Open to intermediate to advanced improvisers.

Kris Wiener

Kris Wiener is a New York-based improviser and actor. She has performed and coached improv comedy for 10 years, and was on the UCB Harold Teams Some Kid and Too Damn Much.

She studied acting with Terry Knickerbocker, and focuses on emotional and truthful scene choices in between dick jokes. Her current running shows are Old Yorkers and KidProv (a family-friendly improv show at The People’s Improv Theater— no dick jokes there).
